WNBA superstars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier’s league, Unrivaled, has already made waves with their announcements regarding participating players and television rights. Marc J. Spears reported for Andscape on Friday that longtime NBA development coach Phil Handy will have a role in the league as well.

The games will begin on Jan. 17 and be played in Miami. The league has announced nearly all the players in the league and is still trying to get WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark to join.

Teresa Weatherspoon and Phil Handy headline the list of coaches who will be leading the new WNBA team, Unrivaled, which launches Jan. 17.

The league will feature Sky forward Angel Reese, Storm guard Jewell Loyd, Mercury guard Kahleah Copper and Mercury center Brittney Griner. Thirty-two of the league's 36 players have been announced.

Basketball Hall of Fame member Teresa Weatherspoon is one of six coaches who will lead teams this winter in Unrivaled, the upcoming 3x3 women's basketball league.

The Chicago Sky's former head coach has found another coaching job. The Unrivaled League announced the six head coaches for the league's inaugural season starting in January 2025. Former Sky head coach Teresea Weatherspoon was tabbed as one of those coaches.
